FLY KICKS: Vans City Pack Fall 2009

Vans Fall 2009 City Pack Chicago

Vans Fall 2009 City Pack San Francisco

Vans Fall 2009 City Pack New York

Vans Fall 2009 City Pack Los Angeles

Now y'all know I love me some Vans right??? So I decided to show y'all the colorways for the fall!!! Vans chose four major cities for the Vans Fall 2009 City Pack, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. Knicks colors are applied to the Half Cab and Era silhouettes. The Sk8 Mid & Half Cab receive the Los Angeles Dodger blue treatment. The Chi gets the classic black and red spread across the Old Skool and Sk8 Hi. Last, but first in my book, uphold your Bayness with some black and orange Era’s or Old Skool’s. But it suck they didn't do a Atlanta pack!!! Can we say Red, White, and Blue???? UGH!!! Maybe Next Year!!!! No word on the official drop date!!!

FLY KICKS: Eric Elms x Vans Preview and Interview!!!!

When is your Vans shoe coming out?

  • It’s coming out in a couple months, I think. The design is all done, but I’ll probably do a couple things around that. I’m going to do a sculpture based on one of the graphics related to it. The shoe isn’t a pro model or anything, they said that I could do whatever I wanted, so it’s my own model.

How did you tackle that?

  • It was kind of tough. It’s a totally different way of thinking. You have to draw it flat but then work in 3-D. I got a sample back and it was like my drawing, but not exactly like what was in my head. Too much of a traditional skater shoe. Once I got that sample it was easier to make changes and glue things on and re-sketch. The sample was about 95% there. It’s coming out in three colors, one’s canvas, one’s suede and one is a mix of the two.

What did you go in to it wanting to make?

  • Something that was more me. More of a casual shoe than a skate shoe. I have a casual style, and maybe something a little weirder. It wouldn’t make sense for me to make a skater shoe because that’s not me. It’s going be at all skate accounts. It’s not going to be limited which I’m excited about.

FLY KICKS: Vans Vault Authentic LX Goatskin “Capri Breeze”

This is a must have shoe for the Summer!!!
A look into some highlights from Vans Vault for this month features the Authentic LX Goatskin. The brilliant “Capri Breeze” upper in blue features a combination of patent leather on the toebox and tonal blue suede. Thin round laces are another lesser seen addition to the shoes.

FLY KICKS: Rowley Shambles Hi

Here's the newest colorway to the "Rowley Shambles Hi's" here is info on the sneaker.
  • Geoff Rowley's "Shambles" have already taken skating to a new level, but they are reaching new heights with a hi-top edition. Building off the heritage of the original Rowley Shams, these hi-tops are larger-than-life with Geoff's solid construction and a heavy duty adjustable strap that buckles you in for ankle support you won't find anywhere else. The bottom line: these kicks ride tough! Rowley "Shambles" are non-Vegan.

This is a "Antique Flyness" must have.....

Howdy Partner

Just when you thought they were done, they hit you with another pair of fly sneakers on the map. This time around we get a pair of Vault Sk8 Mid LX with premium leather in a golden brown colorway. They will be hitting select Vans retailers within the week, no word on the price yet? But if I were you I'd be sure and find out were these "bad boys" are at? Most likely they will be limited. So go to your nearest sneaker shop and get you a pair!

"Go to school, fresh to death, with fly sneakers"

Vans Sk8 hi featuring a blue/red colorway is part of Vans Spring/summer 2009 line up, which includes this blue/red, a black/white one with prints on the upper, and a brown/white colorway. For this colorway of the Vans Sk8 hi, blue and red canvas are daintily crafted into a design that matches the taste of anybody with a heart for retro’s. The canvas upper is flattered with blue on the heel, a red patch accentuated with a single white lining and a white lace. They will most likely be running about $77.00. Which isn't bad compared to most of the shoes I buy. But this is a great start to to begin your spring 2009 collection!

All Aboard!!!!

Hey my all my sneakerheads!!! Check out these joints! Are they fly or what? The Vans Chukka shoes are one of my favorite models from vans. The Vans Chukka - Shaffers Crossing shoe comes from the soon to be released "Shaffers Crossing Pack". The inspiration behind this shoe is Shaffer’s Crossing, Colorado, a small southwest of Denver known for it’s extensive history as part of the railroad industry. The shoe sports wool uppers which evoke essences of railroad workers uniforms. The colorway is somewhat smoggy, making use of black, grey and white and the inner lining is dressed in red and black flannel. This would go great with a sum acid washed jeans, & a red/black lumber jack flannel shirt. So be on the look out for these "Fly Kicks"!!! I'll be sure to have them in my closet!
